Astro Forecast - Mercury Retrograde 27 December 2009

Mercury Retrograde = delays, frustrations and misunderstandings

The planet Mercury will go retrograde for approximately 2 weeks from the 27th December 2009 till 16 January 2010 causing hiccups with all forms of communication, including planes, trains and automobiles.
  • Emails, text & phone messages, letters and contracts can disappear, leaving you wondering what is going on, and why people have not got back to you. Anything mailed can also go astray.

  • Computers can slow down at this time due to system errors, or crash.

  • You may experience problems with your internet or phone connection.

  • Plane, train, bus, and tram schedules can go out the window .. so expect delays.

  • Your car may start running a bit rough during Mercury Retrograde. In peak hour, there may be an increase in car breakdowns and traffic light malfunctions causing lengthy delays.
My Advice
  • Back up your computer before the 27th December!

  • Finalise all contracts, projects and forms of communication before the 27th.

  • It is not a good time to begin new projects. It's best to wait till after 16 January 2010 when Mercury will go Direct. Mercury Direct means Mercury will be moving forward again. If you begin a project while Mercury is in Retrograde (reverse) expect the project to be frustratingly slow and problematic.

  • If you are in the middle of negotiations, allow for delays, and misunderstandings. Keep a copy of everything which is sent, in case it has to be sent again. Don't schedule tight deadlines ... factor in delays!

  • Before going on holidays or business travel, double check all documents and schedules before you leave. Allow plenty of time to get to the airport. Allow plenty of time to transfer between flights.

  • Most important .... relax and go with the flow. Now you know this two week period can be frustrating, you can prepare yourself for the influence this planet has on our daily lives.
Mercury Retrograde is often referred to as the Trickster!

As Mercury Retrogrades three times a year for approximately three weeks, I will update you when Mercury Retrogrades again next year on Twitter , My Blog or my Feng Shui Newsletter. Feng shui and the fibonacci sequence

Four of feng shui's core principles correspond to numbers in the Fibonacci sequence. Taiji or centre = 1; yin and yang = 2; the cosmic trinity = 3; the five
phases (fire, earth, metal, water & wood) = 5; the eight triagrams (eight directions) = 8.

Fibon
acci numbers can be found in nature and our bodies, and have influenced art, architecture and music.

Each number in the series is the sum of the two previous numbers. For example 3+5=8, 5+8=13, and so on to infinity.

If you are new to the wonders of the Fibonacci code, I have attached a video which explains the basic principles.

The first time I heard about the Fibonacci sequence was 7 years ago. I did a wonderful workshop with Lesley Crossingham where we learnt how to draw spirit guides with pastels. I found out the features of our face fit the proportions of the Fibonacci sequence. Once we got those proportions right for our spirit portraits, they came alive!

History of Feng Shui

Feng Shui can be traced back to the I-Ching, the ancient Book of Changes written over 4,000 years ago. Confucious, the world famour Chinese philospher, was one of four founders. The physical environment was perceived to be a living entity, and the external world is a physical manifestation of our internal world. The earth's breath is qi/wind (feng), or the dragon's vapour, and the earth's water (shui) represents the dragon's blood. Therefore, in China, the physical environment is symbolic of a real dragon, and the ultimate purpose of feng shui is to locate the cave or lair of the dragon.

For this reason benevolent forces are said to concentrate around Hong Kong. The mix of mountains, plains and sea form the perfect dragon's lair!

The first and oldest school of Feng Shui, Form School, dates back to 190-220 C.E. Ancient texts show the importance of environmental factors such as the shape, size and position of surrounding hills and mountains, and the location of water when looking for an auspicious locations. Today, we also look at the buildings, roads, rivers, oceans, trees, fences and gardens that surround a building, to evaluate the quality of qi flowing into the site.

Around 722-481 B.C. Compass School (as it is known in the West) is based on the concept that each of the eight sectors or triagrams holds a different type of qi. They also represent magnetic directions, numbers 1 to 9, body parts, organs, people (male and female), and the five elements; fire, earth, metal, water and wood. An accurate compass reading of the facing direction of a building is an essential part of the analysis. This is not the same as the Black Sect or Life Aspirations theories developed for Westerners in the 70's and 80's. They are generalized and inaccurate methods sold to gullible Westerners to make money.

In medieval China, feng shui was a closely guarded secret. Its Masters were restricted to emporers, and the privileged. By deliberately excluding commoners from feng shui's power, they ensured their positions. Feng shui masters were greatly rewarded for their skills, and severely punished and sometimes killed, if they helped commoners. So it was not until the Qing Dynasty (1644-1840) that the true secrets of the Flying Star School were revealed. The numbers 1-9 from the Lo Shu Grid or Magic Square 'fly' in various directions, creating mathematical patterns which reveal the essential character of a building.

2012 - Science or Superstition

On a cold winter's night in Melbourne, with the usual rubbish on TV, I decided to watch a movie (you can tell I don't have Foxtel). '2012 - Science or Superstition' turned out to be a very interesting documentary on the significance of the end of the Mayan Calendar December 21, 2012.

Opinions were gathered from scientists, anthropologists and archaeologists. It explained the more scientific 'natural disaster' possibilities such as solar flares and the pole shift, and also gave great insight into the 'renewal or rebirth of consciousness' theories from historians and anthropologists who have not only studied the Mayan culture, but also have found a similar theme in Egyptian, and American Indian legends. Worth watching!

Hope you find it interesting too .... stay safe and warm, Carol

Signs & Symbols

Throughout the ages, there has been many methods for forecasting the hidden aspects of life. Ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Babylon and China read the stars. American Indians and Australian Aboriginals read the signs and symbols in nature to guide them. The ‘three wise men’, or Magi, came from Persia and India to find the baby Jesus.

The Magi kept very precise records of the positions of the stars

They believed that the stars held the secrets of the past and could foretell the future. “The Magi figured out that a very rare event was about to take place. The ‘wandering stars’ which today we know are planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn would appear very close together in the constellation of Pisces. The Magi predicted that these three planets would form a triangular, arrow head shape in the sky which would point out an important event on earth. In those days, groups of people were ‘assigned’ constellations; Pisces was the constellation that had been given to the Hebrew people” (New York Times 1998).

Negative or Bad Homes & Offices

I was at a dinner party recently and everyone could recall a personal experience of a home that 'just wasn't right', or where they had experienced alot of sickness and sadness. The beautiful home that is back on the market every few years. The house where married couples always end up divorcing, or one particular shop that nevers seems to stay in business very long.

I was asked what I thought was the main reason for these 'negative' places?

More often than not, I find it is a combination of a few problems. Often the flying star chart of the home verifies it is not a good place for health and relationships. Health problems such as frequent colds & flu, slow recovery, poor sleep and infertility are often caused by a combination of Geopathic Stress and Sick Building Syndrome (please see my website for more detailed information on these issues). And if there has been alot of turmoil, tragedy and sickness in a particular place, dark and heavy energy builds up over time, so a Space Clearing is needed to remove it. Fortunately, all 'negative' homes or buildings can be improved or neutralized by a qualified consultant trained in Feng Shui, Geomancy, Sick Building Syndrome and Space Clearing.
